Curtis Industries recently has added more capacity in their Nogales, Mexico factory, a 110-ton Sumitomo all-electric injection molding machine. “This increases our capacity by about 15 percent,” says Curtis President, Steven Powers. “It allows us to keep pace with our growing business.”
Curtis has six plastic injection molding machines for manufacturing terminal blocks and covers for connectors and switches. “All our other machines use hydraulics,” says Plant Manager, Mario Sanchez. “This all-electric molding machine is much quieter. It’s fast, and it never leaks, either. It’s a beautiful machine, with all the bells and whistles.”
Sumitomo manufactures a wide range of high-precision all-electric injection molding machines for diverse applications, from 8 to 606 U.S. tons.
